IMPROVING STUDENTS’ NARRATIVE TEXT WRITING THROUGH STUDENT TEAM ACHIEVEMENT DIVISION (STAD) METHOD

The aim of this research is to find out how the use Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) improves students’ narrative text writing. This was Classroom Action Research (CAR) which conducted in two cycles. subject XI IAI students MAN 1 Pontianak consists 38 students. researcher collected data improvement writing from results text, observation checklist, and field notes. It found that improved cycle 2. implementation STAD students' skill compose corresponding with aspects writing: content, organization, vocabulary, language use, mechanics. Besides that, teamwork courage answer questions also increased due rewards given by researcher. Therefore, recommends using as a technique teach text.
